What is Latex Screed?
Latex screed is a self-levelling compound which is either water based or latex based. When mixed it forms a smooth, free-flowing solution that settles to
fill uneven areas in the subfloor. Once cured it leaves a smooth & solid level base that’s perfect for installing vinyl, carpet tiles, laminate and specialist floor finishes.
It’s a reliable choice for both new and existing floors, offering strength, flexibility, and fast drying times.
Our Process
Every job starts with a site visit. We assess the condition of your subfloor, check moisture levels and decide on the most appropriate system. Where necessary, we’ll apply primers or install a damp-proof membrane (DPM) to ensure a strong bond and prevent future issues or floor failures.
Once the surface is prepped we apply the latex screed using a tripod / laser-guided system for absolute precision. On larger projects we use pumped screed systems to maintain consistent coverage across wider areas. Most floors are ready to receive foot traffic within a few hours and can be covered within 12 to 24 hours, keeping your project on schedule.
Accuracy as Standard
We use tripod and laser systems to control levels across the entire area, ensuring the finished floor is perfectly smooth. This level of accuracy is especially important when preparing for finishes like luxury vinyl tiles, sheet flooring or wet room systems, where any imperfections in the subfloor would be visible in the final result.
Built to Last
Our latex screeds are designed for long-term performance. They’re flexible enough to move with the subfloor, which reduces the risk of cracking over time and they’re also compatible with underfloor heating systems.
Being protein-free, they don’t harbour bacteria, making them suitable for hygiene-sensitive environments like kitchens, hospitals, care homes and food preparation areas.
